Visit Over 160 Wineries
in and around
Tri-Cities
Distance from downtown Seattle:
220 miles; 3 hours, 30 minutes
Surrounded by 16,000 acres of vineyards, the rapidly growing Tri-Cities of
Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland lie at the center of our state’s biggest
viticultural region, Columbia Valley, with more than 160 wineries within a
one-hour drive. Big bonus: over 300 sunny days per year. What are you waiting
for?
Go for Great Music and Even Better Wine
With a trio of wineries, Tulip Lane is the place to go for great wine, live
music, and a fun local nightlife scene. Start at
Bookwalter Winery. While this
landmark of Washington wine is known for its luscious reds, one of our warm
weather favorites here is the Couplet from Connor Lee Vineyard. This book-loving
winery named it after “a pair of lines in poetry that usually rhyme and
share the same meter...” They say that this Chardonnay-Viognier blend expresses
the meter of two grapes in one sensation. We say that with its aromas of lemons,
rose petals, and fresh-cut grass, it’s a summertime celebration in a glass.
Taste the Tradition
Then stroll up the road to
Tagaris Winery, also home to restaurant
Taverna
Tagaris, where you can enjoy award-winning wines and Mediterranean cuisine in an
old-world setting. (And when we say old-world, we mean it. The Tagaris family
first began growing wine grapes in 15th-century Greece.) Relax on the expansive
outdoor patio with a glass of wine from the unique open-air bar or
choose a table in the elegantly rustic, Greek-inspired taverna.
Picnic among the Grapevines
The family-owned Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards and Winery is dedicated to limited
production, handcrafted wines from select, estate-grown grapes. In the heart of
the Columbia Valley, visitors can enjoy a panoramic vineyard view while sipping
handcrafted wines on the patios. Goose Ridge is a true wine country destination
featuring a relaxing atmosphere with delightful hospitality.
Enjoy Fresh Mediterranean Cuisine
The lively setting at
Taverna Tagaris provides the perfect backdrop for its
fusion of fresh, organic Northwest fare with Mediterranean style—from Pacific
Northwest meats, seafood, and seasonal game to crisp salads, house-baked
flatbreads, and more. For something a little different, end your meal with a
glass of Kennedy White Port, a vacation-worthy indulgence.
Sleep to the Sounds of the River
Across the street from one of Richland’s most challenging golf courses is the
Courtyard by Marriott Richland at Columbia Point, a pleasant and comfortable
hotel right on the water. Drift off to the sounds of the Columbia River, then
wake to a hearty breakfast spread in the lobby and a morning stroll along the
winding waterfront path. This hotel offers the conveniences of the city with the
feel of a vacation resort. |
